Welcome!
If you're considering colonic hydrotherapy, you might be curious about what happens during the session.
This guide will walk you through the process, so you know what to expect and can feel more comfortable and prepared.
Arrival and Preparation:
When you arrive at Agape Healing Arts Health and Wellness Center, you will be greeted by a friendly staff member who will check you in. You'll then be taken to a private room where the procedure will take place.
Consultation:
Before the session begins, you'll have a consultation with the therapist. She will explain the procedure, discuss your health history and answer any questions you may have. It's important to inform her of any medical conditions or concerns.
Changing and Getting Ready:
You'll be asked to undress from the waist down and put on a gown for privacy. We provide a sheet and towel for additional coverage.
The Procedure:
Positioning: You'll lie on a comfortable table, usually on your left side.
Insertion: The therapist will gently insert a small, lubricated tube (speculum) into your rectum. This might feel slightly uncomfortable for a moment but is not painful.
Water Flow: Warm, filtered water is slowly introduced into your colon through the tube. As the water fills your colon, you might feel a sensation of fullness or pressure.
Release: The water, along with any waste material, is then released through a different tube and disposed of hygienically. This cycle of filling and releasing is repeated several times during the session.
Massage: To help loosen waste and gas, the therapist will gently massage your abdomen.
Duration:
The entire process could range between 40-80 minutes.
After the Procedure:
Once the session is complete, you'll be given time to use the restroom. Some people may feel a bit lighter or more energized, while others might feel a bit tired or have mild cramping.
Post-Procedure Care:
Hydration: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
-Diet: Eat light meals for the rest of the day. Avoid heavy or greasy foods.
-Rest: Listen to your body and rest if you feel the need.
Follow-Up:
Your therapist will recommend a series of sessions for optimal results, depending on your individual needs and health goals.
Colon hydrotherapy is a safe and effective way to cleanse the colon and support overall digestive health. Knowing what to expect can help you feel more at ease during the process. If you have any concerns or questions, don't hesitate to reach out to your therapist.
